Weekend Bucket List: Aladerri International Film Festival

Share

Film enthusiasts have something amazing to look forward to this weekend. The Aladerri International Film Festival will be held from August 28th – 30th with a selection of international and local short films showcasing the work of established and emerging filmmakers who are passionate about storytelling and the art of filmmaking.

This 3-day virtual festival will give film lovers the chance to see some emerging work from these amazing artists. These virtual, multi-screening showcases give you a chance to shake up your old Netflix routine. Pull together your family and close friends to create your own private viewing party or invite friends you haven’t been able to see to purchase tickets and join you! You can throw a zoom party to discuss your favorite short film after.

With 8 categories to choose from, there’s something everyone will be interested in checking out. To support local filmmakers, make sure to check out the Best Illinois Short Film category. Of course, Best Comedy Short Film, Best Fiction Short Film, and so many more will tempt you too.

If you’re having a hard time deciding, we highly recommend ANNA, Cannes Official Selection 19. You’ll also enjoy Stucco which comes from a local Illinois filmmaker. In Orbit is a compelling tale of an invisible optician, trapped in a strange and lonely world and is worth watching. Finally, we also have to recommend LADYSiTTER, the journey of a young woman transitioning into adulthood in a way you might have never seen before.

Screening days, times and tickets can be found on their website, so you can start planning your weekend today!
