Brighter days are ahead of us, Chicagoans! On May 13th, ComEd is hosting the annual Switch on Summer, a sensational celebration of turning the Buckingham Fountain back on! There is simply no better way to welcome the warmer weather than this.
Festivities
From 12pm to 3pm, Grant Park will be bustling with those partaking in the FREE festivities! Family-friendly games, live entertainment, guest appearances, and giveaways will ensue. Sounds of the 1980’s cover band Sixteen Candles, Angel Meléndez & the 911 Mambo Orchestra, and The Jesse White Tumblers will be booming throughout the park, so prepare to dance. For the youngins, beloved children’s characters, interactive ventures, and educational activities will be present!
In true Chicago style, a variety of vendors and food trucks will be available, offering local fare for purchase! Local arts and cultural organizations will also be featured, furthering the authentic culture of the city. Bring family and friends and join in on the inclusive fun. The actuating of one of Chicago’s most iconic landmarks is certainly something to celebrate, so make your plans now!
