The weather is getting warmer, and farmers markets are moving outside again. In the upcoming weeks, stop by a market to celebrate the spring weather and buy some fresh and local produce.

Green City Market

On Saturday, April 6, Green City Market will begin its outdoor season in Lincoln Park. Open from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., stop by for the freshest produce and meat selection. You can also purchase breads, cheeses, honey, jams, locally roasted coffee, potted herbs and plants, and more. From 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., stop by Club Sprouts, a tent full of interactive kids’ activities about food, farming, and sustainability.

The West Loop location of Green City Market will open in May and runs through November on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Logan Square Farmers Market

Officially opening May 12 at 9:00 a.m., the Logan Square Farmers Market is first offering a dry run on April 7 at its new potential location. Come to stock up on fresh greens and see what vendors will be at the market this year.

Nettelhorst French Market

With several locations across Chicagoland, Nettelhorst French Market will be opening for the season on April 20 until November 2. Stop by Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. If you can’t make it in person, shop on Nettelhorst’s virtual market.

Lincoln Square Farmers Market

Starting in May, the Lincoln Square Farmers Market will be open on Tuesday mornings and Thursday evenings, except on July 4. Shop from 7:00 to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday mornings through November, or come by on Thursday evenings from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. until October.

61st Street Farmers Market

Since 2008, 61st Street Farmers Market has been run by an active group of volunteers in Chicago’s Woodlawn neighborhood and surrounding areas. 61st Street opens for the season on May 11 and runs until October 26.

South Loop Farmers Market

The South Loop Farmers Market is open twice weekly starting in May. On May 18 until October 26, stop by on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Starting June 13, South Loop will open a night market on Thursdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
