EXPO CHICAGO Contemporary Art Fair returns to Navy Pier’s Festival Hall from April 25-27. The annual fair is a celebration of contemporary and modern art, and also features an extensive program of talks, on-site installations and public art initiatives.
This year’s fair will feature more than 170 of the top galleries from 36 countries and 93 cities. New for 2025 is CONTRAST, curated by Lauren Haynes. She’s chosen work from eight contemporary galleries by such artists as Chico da Silva, Dr. Esther Mahlangu and Wangaru Mathenge that explore contrasts in culture, identity and experience.
Rosario Güiraldes’ EXPOSURE returns to EXPO CHICAGO for its second year. Once again, the section will feature solo and two-artist works from galleries that have opened in the past 10 years. But where she previously presented pieces in galleries from across the globe, she sharpened her focus this year to Latin America and Chicago galleries.
The PROFILE section includes small and large-scale installations that have both playful and introspective themes by well-known galleries from around the world.
Also new this year is a partnership with Galleries Association of Korea (GaoK). Visitors will discover paintings, digital prints and mixed-media pieces selected from 20 leading Korean galleries. The initiative is a project of the Korea Arts Management Service and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The Korean exhibition is within the Galleries section, which features art in numerous disciplines and highlight various themes, including the ancestral power of Brazil’s Black population, desert transcendentalism and Chicago’s history with “outsider” art.
General admission hours on Friday and Saturday are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets are available here.
