Get your bikes ready because Bike Chicago 2012 and Goose Island Beer Company announce this year’s full schedule of premier events for Bike to Work Week! From June 11th to 15th enjoy many free spin and fitness classes, short films about bicycles, and enjoy movies at the park.
2012 Bike to Work Week Schedule of Events
Monday, June 11:
Spinning Alfresco, presented by CityTarget in Millennium Park at Cloud Gate. There will be two classes each morning at 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. everyday until June 15. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. All fitness levels are welcome.
6:00 p.m.: Bike Shorts, presented by the Chicago Bicycle Film Festival and Goose Island Beer Company, is a collection of short bicycle films from around the world, at the Goose Island Brewpub, located on 1800 N. Clybourn
Tuesday, June 12
Beginning at dusk, head to Millennium Park for this year’s Bike Chicago Movie in the Park. Lay down with your blankets on the Great Lawn and watch the American Classic Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, a 1985 hit comedy that follows Pee-wee Herman as he embarks on a nation-wide quest to rescue his beloved, stolen bike.
Wednesday, June 13
12:00 p.m.: Streets for Cycling 2020 held at the Chicago Cultural Center in the Claudia Cassidy Theater, is a lecture that highlights new protected bike lanes, bike sharing and more!
Thursday, June 14
6:30 p.m.: Starting at Buckingham Fountain, stroll in a informative and fun, free two-hour Loop Bike Tour led by Lee Diamond of Chicago Neighborhood Bike Tours. Pre-registration is required as the ride limited to 150 participants.
Friday, June 15
7:30 a.m.: Ditch the car and choose the economic and healthy alternative by becoming a bike commuter. Meet at Daley Plaza and join fellow cyclists, local media, cycling groups, Goose Island Beer Company and the City of Chicago to The Bike to Work Rally.
